(The Morganton News-Herald) Unemployment rates throughout North Carolina counties in November were all over the place, including in the local metro area.
Burke County’s rate in November increased slightly to 3.2 percent, up from 3.1 percent. It was one of 56 counties in the state that saw increases in their unemployment, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
Of the other counties in the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton metropolitan statistical area, Caldwell County saw the biggest increase, rising to 3.6 percent, up from 3.3 percent in October. Catawba County saw its unemployment rate remain at 3.1 percent in November.
