1b08f007-581b-4b81-8865-1c81a46d2379-Asheville_Winter_Storm_2018_Full-1(Asheville Citizen-Times) Rising housing costs in Buncombe County have led an Asheville-based nonprofit to revise upwards what’s considered a living wage in the county.

The living wage has been set at $13.65 an hour for workers not offered employer-provided health insurance, up from $13 an hour rate set in January 2017, Just Economics, the organizational home of the Asheville-Buncombe Living Wage Campaign, said Friday.

It also revised the rate for employees provided health insurance at work from $11.50 to $12.15 an hour.
